Base fee:
  • The event is $5 per person. Lunch is optional at an additional $8 per person.

    You can pay online when you RSVP, or choose "invoice me" to pay at the door on the day of the event.

    Either way, registering for the event ahead of time helps us plan for adequate seating and meals for lunch, so we very much appreciate it!

8:30-9:15 Event entry fee of $5.00 per person may be paid at the door or in advance online (preferred).
Proceeds benefit Alfred Parish Church UCC and MOCA.

Breakfast: assortment of muffins and pastries, coffee, tea.

8:30-12:00 Exhibits, Displays, Cemetery Projects

If you have a cemetery project and wish to share the information with others, please bring a display board, photos, or other related materials. Tables will be available to set up displays.

9:15-9:30 Welcome and Announcements

9:30-10:15 Alfred History in Three Graves… or Less

Focusing on the history of the Shakers and their burying ground; John Holmes and the history of the village and his burial story; Old Bet the Elephant and her murder and burial in Alfred.

10:15-10:30 Break

10:30-11:00 Continuation of Alfred History in Three Graves

11:00-12:00 MOCA Annual Business Meeting and presentation of slate of officers  All are welcome to attend or you may view the displays at this time.

12:00-1:00 Lunch Buffet
Corn chowder, soup, finger roll sandwiches, apple crisp, and drinks provided by the Alfred Parish Church UCC  $8.00 per person

LUNCH RESERVATIONS REQUIRED by September 9th. Lunch reservations and payments may be made online via the MOCA website at moca-me.org or contact Jessica Couture.

1:00 Guided Tour
Alfred Village Cemetery, adjacent to the Alfred Parish Church 

Indoor option, a tour of the Parish Church, which features historic stained glass. Also historic Parsons Memorial Library, just a short walk from the church, features a new patio for their popular outdoor concerts. Open until 3:00.
