Presenter: Ron Romano

Beginning in February 2026, MOCA is launching a new online lecture series designed to increase member engagement throughout the year. These 60 to 90-minute virtual programs will feature presenters covering a wide range of cemetery, burial, and conservation topics—all accessible from home.

This inaugural series concludes on April 16 with a perfect way to kick off the spring cemetery tramping season: “Understanding Symbolism on Maine’s Early Gravestones,” presented by Ron Romano, MOCA member, historian, cemetery guide, and author of five books on cemetery and gravestone history.

Registration will open in mid-March.

All programs begin at 6 p.m. and run approximately 90 minutes. Registration will open first to MOCA members before being offered to the general public. Participation is limited to the first 100 registrants. While the programs are free, a $5 donation is appreciated. All proceeds will benefit MOCA’s education and training programs.
