WORKSHOP FULL

Trained volunteers from the Maine Old Cemetery Association will lead an all-day Cleaning Workshop at the Gray Village Cemetery.

This workshop will include a demonstration of correct materials and procedures for properly cleaning gravestones.  Registered attendees will have an opportunity for supervised hands-on practice using the skills.

This workshop will use materials and methods approved by the Association for Gravestone Studies (AGS) and by the Maine Old Cemetery Association (MOCA).

Documented direct descendants of any of the persons buried in the Gray Village Cemetery who do not want their ancestor’s stone preserved by this group should contact Galen Morrison before June 9, 2018. Galen can also address any questions you might have.

The Town of Gray and the Gray Cemetery Association, which cares for the cemetery, has already authorized the work.
