Project Description

Bayview is the oldes public cemetery in Lubec with stone dating back to the 1800's. Unfortunately, little if any care has been given to the cemetery and we are in the process of forming a group to learn how to clean & stand-up the many tomb stones that have fallen down. Project needs include training, understanding what the correct way is to lift back up stones and how to clean them. We will be making a presentation to our selectboard in the fall, put out the word for people who would like to help fix/clean-up the cemetery to contact us. Schedule, hopefully, a class with MOCA, & involve other community organizations in our efforts e.g., Lions, Masons, Woman's Club, etc.
